"WordPress.com, according to Starbuck"
Sent by Starbuck on July 22, 2008.
The blog website WordPress.com is one of the most popular among blog creators for many varied (and very good!) reasons.
It’s not only because it was made to be based in software under a GPL license, but also because it’s a simple system with a very elegant structure based on W3C standards which make it suitable for visual development and supplements that increase the included functions.
WordPress is relatively easy to install, use and personalize. There is also the possibility to have multiple authors or users with certain levels of permission within the blogs, allowing us to create multiple blogs or static pages and import web content from Blogger, Blogware, Dotclear, Greymatter, Livejournal, Movable Type and Typepad, Textpattern and any RSS Feed.
WordPress offers the possibility to apply one of 60 distinct layoutsto your blog, personalize the lateral bar, load an image on the header, and directly edit the CSS codes. It also allows “widgets,” (small interactive applications) within these themes.
In terms of the blog entry organization, users can apply labels as they write, attracting people interested in the same subjects to leave their comments on the blog.
It also provides correction tools for spelling and anti-spam, as well as tools for images, videos, or counterparts for Flickr, del.icio.us and Meebo.

Starting today, however, we’ll cherish your images [...] -
Phone Your Blog
It’s happened to all of us. The night starts off innocently enough with a little gin and tonic, maybe a mojito, then next thing you know you’re doing tequila shots with the bartender and the girl from Brazil and you find yourself thinking it would be a treMENdous idea to call up your ex and see how they’re doing [...] -
Support the First Amendment with 1 for All
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Born and raised on the Texas Gulf Coast, I’ve spent [...] -
Overcome Writer’s Block With Plinky Prompts
Do you ever think “Ugh, I’d totally write a new blog post, if I just had something to say?” Or maybe, “I’m sick and tired of writer’s block but I don’t know what to do about it!” We’ve all been there — those days when the light bulb seems dim, if not burned out. To [...] -
